WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR

As someone who rides both road and gravel I’m always looking for those crossover pieces that seamlessly work in both disciplines. I’m after a comfortable, stylish and versatile jersey that I can wear during those warmer days but also works well as part of a layering system during those changeable months.

I’m a big fan of cycling clothing that has a minimal design and styling so am looking for something that fits into that bracket.

WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR

I’m a big fan of Albion’s styling and design when it comes to their products, so straight away I was a fan of this jersey in terms of how it looked. I really like the bright orange colour, but for those that want something a bit more subtle, they also offer it in a few other colourways.

The jersey feels really nice to the touch, it has a soft feel with some good stretch and the materials and finish feel really high quality.

Initially after looking at the size chart I went for a medium, which is also my normal size for most jerseys. When trying it on for the first time however it came up quite small and felt pretty tight. I switched to a large, which fit a lot better. So for anyone looking to buy one, I’d consider sizing up.

the materials and finish feel really high quality

THE TEST

This jersey has been worn on a multitude of rides varying in both distance and terrain, ranging from 30km road rides to 90km gravel rides. I’ve worn this jersey in some really hot weather and throughout it has performed really well in terms of breathability and moisture wicking. It has also been extremely comfortable throughout, I’m a big fan of the stretchy material as it gives you a good range of motion and doesn’t feel restrictive. The jersey also still looks brand new even after a few washes!

The rear pockets have been great and have been surprisingly roomy and great for storing emergency layers or stowing away layers when it got too warm. Additionally the zip pocket has been really useful for storing my house key.

WHO IS THIS JERSEY FOR?

If you’re looking for a stylish, high quality and comfortable jersey that performs well during all kinds of riding, the Albion All Road Jersey might be your new go to. It is great during warmer days due to the breathable materials and also works well as part of a layering system. Additionally if you want to stand out and be seen the burnt orange colour that I went for will be right up your street.

WHAT STANDS OUT?

Breathable

The jersey is really breathable and performs well when you’re out riding on a warm day.

Pockets

3 rear pockets with pleated bottoms for added volume and a small zippered stash pocket for keeping items secure.

Eco materials

84% recycled polyester construction.

Stretch

The jersey has a really nice stretchy feel to it which gives you nice freedom of movement and a nice snug fit.

Styling

I really like the classic minimal styling of the jersey and it comes in a nice selection of colours.

VALUE FOR MONEY

At £105 it’s by no means cheap, however it sits sort of in the middle price wise when looking at some of Rapha and Maap’s offerings. Personally I think it’s definitely worth the price and would recommend it. It’s comfortable and breathable even during long rides in the heat. It also looks great and feels like it’s going to last.

BASE BOTTOM LINE

The Albion All Road Short Sleeve Jersey is a versatile and comfortable jersey that has quickly become my go to for those warmer days. Just like in the title it really is for ‘all road’ and performs well and looks great during all styles of riding.

I’d definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a new staple piece in their cycling wardrobe. I’ll be definitely getting a few more of these and would like to get the long sleeve version as well.
