Over the course of five years, Jenny Tough took on the challenge to run, solo and self-supported, across a mountain range in every continent. She ran the Tien Shan, the High Atlas, the Bolivian Andes, Southern Alps (New Zealand, Canadian Rockies and the Transylvanian Alps.

In 2022, in order to capture the project, she launched her book SOLO and later in the same year the accompanying film was released by Summit Fever Media, presented by Montane. The film follows Tough’s five-year story across as she learns lessons in resilience, self-esteem, bravery and more.

Kicking off in April 2023, celebrating her journey Montane, is hitting the road with the SOLO film tour.

‘I am very excited to take SOLO on tour and to share the project that has taken many years to complete,’ says Jenny. ‘Going on a solo adventure adds so many layers of challenges to an expedition that I think brings integrity to the pursuit. It is great to be able to share this launch as part of #TeamMontane and help to inspire people to get out there and take on their next challenge.’

Visiting various locations across the UK from 16th to 20th April 2023 – including London, Bristol, Manchester , Edinburgh, and finally another location in Scotland (soon to be announced). Each evening will bring a unique opportunity for the audiences to watch Jenny’s documentary live for the first time and to engage with her through a Q&A. Additionally, attendees to the events will have the chance to win new season Montane kit.

‘Jenny is sharing a truly inspiring story. She encourages everyone to go out and explore; to meet new people, visit new places and ultimately, to push our own limits,’ says Montane’s Global Marketing Manager, Matthew Hickman. ‘We are really proud to have athletes and adventurers like Jenny on board with us at Montane, who show us that setting out to do things solo – whether the ambitious or the everyday, can be a truly empowering and liberating experience.’

In issue 01 of BASE magazine, Jenny Tough shared her personal account of running 860km following the old Berber trail networks of the Morocco’s Atlas mountains. You can read that full story online here.
