WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR

I am looking for a comfortable yet stylish every day walking trouser. I have always struggled to find a comfortable walking trouser that fits well and looks good while still being practical.

Most walking trousers I’ve had in the past have been uncomfortable in one way or another. As a typical post-pandemic British adult I enjoy wearing leggings every day and have always hoped to find a pair of walking trousers that could offer the same level of comfort!

I am looking for trousers to wear while walking or hiking in the Lake District that can look good and be comfortable when having a post-walk pub lunch too.

As a typical post-pandemic British adult I enjoy wearing leggings every day and have always hoped to find a pair of walking trousers that could offer the same level of comfort!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

First try of these trousers instantly revealed how comfortable they felt. The stretch was obvious and I was pleased to notice the large pockets front and back. The blue colour is a dark blue with neat zips and discrete Montane logo.

THE TEST

These trousers have been tested during some of the warmest weather Cumbria has ever seen in a rare May heatwave! I used the Terra Stretch Trousers when hiking in the Lake District from Great Langdale to Whinlatter forest, dog walking and also during a treetop adventure course with the family.

The thigh vents (zipped and mesh-lined) were very appreciated for ventilation. The trousers are lightweight and I did not feel hot at all despite the mid 20° degree heat.

The trousers are durable and strong; they coped very well with a harness with constant bumps and scrapes during the treetop adventure course, and the zipped pockets allowed safe storage of valuables while using the harness.

They have washed well and look new again despite getting very muddy! Whilst out my sister commented these trousers looked like a pair of fashionable Sweaty Betty trousers (her favourite luxe sportswear brand).

WHO ARE THESE TROUSERS FOR?

The Montane Terra Stretch Trousers are the top pick for anyone who is looking for an every day walking trousers that are lightweight, comfortable and stylish. The trousers are tough, durable and versatile for all mountain sports; hiking, walking and climbing. The trousers will not look out of place around the shops and pubs post-walk as they are still smart and attractive.

WHAT STANDS OUT?

Stretch

The fabric and incredible stretch allows these trousers to be extremely comfortable.

Practical pockets

2 side pockets and 1 rear pocket with secure zips allow safe storage of items.

Ventilation

Zipped, mesh-lined thigh vents for on-the-go ventilation ensured these full length walking trousers were comfortable to use even in very warm climates.

Smart

Practical and comfortable yet still stylish. The ankle adjustment zip and press stud allows for different style of lower leg.

VALUE FOR MONEY

The terra stretch trousers are priced higher than other walking trousers however due to the level of comfort and durability I think readers would be extremely satisfied. They are designed for every day multi-activity mountain use and I think worth the higher price tag. They are durable and likely to last for a long time.

BASE BOTTOM LINE

Despite multiple testings, rigorous inspection and consideration I cannot find a fault with the Montane Terra Stretch Trousers. They are by far the most comfortable walking trousers I have ever worn. The Terra Stretch Trousers are lightweight and stretchy; ideal for every day hiking, walking, climbing or trekking activities. I never thought I would find a trouser as comfortable as leggings but now I have! Post-pandemic leggings need to now move to the back of my wardrobe!

The Terra Stretch Trousers are stylish, on-trend and extremely practical, durable and likely to last a long time. The adjustable features are useful; removable belt, vents and ankle adjustments allow these trousers to be modified to your requirement. The trousers can be purchased in different colours and also as short, regular or long length from size 8-18; suitable for a broad spectrum of shapes and sizes.

I do not think you can go wrong with the Terra Stretch Trousers; a premium everyday walking trouser.
